As we conclude the 2012 CCI Worldwide Summit, hugs and blessings are being exchanged and participants are heading off to their own corners of the globe. We walk away with many fresh ideas and encouragement, including the knowledge that whatever challenges arise, and whatever successes we may have, we are not alone. We all play a small part in body and work of Christ around the world, and we get to have some fun and shape the lives of young kids while we are at it.
Finishing Strong
Participants at the CCI Worldwide Summit have had a busy past few days at Pinos Reales meeting together and covering a large variety of topics. Many participants are saying that this summit has been encouraging and exciting in the fact that all of us in Christian camping around the world are more unified in purpose than any of us actually realize.
Spain was named the 2012 Foosball Worldwide Cup champions, defeating the seasoned Team USA for the win.
The summit ended with a special night partaking in the Lord’s Supper together and honoring Lorimer Gray as he completed 12 years of service as the Chairman of Christian Camping International. Lorimer’s gracious leadership will be missed as he moves to the next ministries that God has in store for him.
A Gift of Adventure
Bruce Dunning, from CCI Canada, surprised participants at the Worldwide Summit with a gift of his new book, God of Adventure. In his book, Bruce explores how God teaches through adventure and calls us to do the same. This is a great resource for camp professionals that blends the outdoor adventure experience with 19 Biblical principals. The appendix of Biblical research alone is worth the purchase.

Special Update
CCI Japan shared a moving presentation about the devastating earthquake and tsunami that hit their country just over a year ago. The group paused and prayed that God would use Christian camps to share God’s love and message of true life during this time of recovery.
Please join us in continuing to pray for those affected by this disaster and that our Lord will equip CCI Japan to respond effectively to meet the needs of the people and share the Good News of Christ’s love.
Down to Business
Yesterday, participants heard updates from all of the CCI Regional Representatives as well as the Dan Bolin, the CCI International Director. It has been fascinating to hear how God is at work around the world. Reports indicate that over 10,600,000 campers attended a CCI camp somewhere in the world last year!
A Worship service this morning ended with “Open the Eyes if My Heart Lord” in about 10 languages, including sign language. Everyone blended together in singing “Santo, Santo, Santo”(holy holy holy). It is so much fun to have a moment of moving unity, which embodies picture the entire conference.
Participants will be working and learning over the next few days in key areas of association management. Pray that the time spent will enhance the impact of Christian camping in all of our 20 member associations.
Segovia, Spain
As the effects of travel wear off, the attendees of the CCI Worldwide Summit 2012, enjoyed a guided tour of Segovia, Spain while enjoying getting to know each other, seeing beautiful sights and enjoying a traditional Spanish meal together.
Arriving
The term “today” is subjective at present while participants arrive at Pinos Reales from all over the world, some having traveled over 24 hours to be here for such an amazing gathering.
The morning started off with a wonderful testimony and devotional from Lorimer Grey touring our imaginations through beaches and mountains and focusing on the continued importance and blessing of spending quality, personal time with the Creator. Throughout the day, participants continue to arrive as the board meets and prepares for the upcoming week. Your prayers are coveted for continued safe travels, and an encouraging and effective week for all participants.
